High paced wave games have many benefits: fitnes with the ball and passing and finishing at game realistic speed, to name a few. This wave game is a 2v2 game, but will always become a 2v1 game with a trailing defender. I like the concept of always including a trailing defender as it forced the team with the numerical advantage to go at pace and not slow down, thus making the exercise real to the game of soccer. Two players attack a goal with a goalkeeper, The player that shoots the ball or loses possession must drop and do 5 crunches before he or she may defend (This rule will always ensure a 2v1). The other player immediately transitions to defend. Two new attackers will bring a ball onto the field immediately with the shot and attempt to attack 2v1 before the trailing player has finished the crunches.
