The 23rd in our series on technical warm ups is an exercise that I recently saw at the NSCAA convention conducted by the youth academy director of Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb. Build a box and place a fifth cone in the center of it. The two balls are always passed along the same paths, but the players movement changes. There are six different movement patterns (I have them labeled in the video). It is very much a mental exercise as well.

1. Pass the ball, then run towards the center cone and back to the line you started in

2. Pass the ball, then run towards the center cone and then towards the line you passed the ball to

3. Pass the ball, then run towards the center cone and then diagonally to the opposite corner line

4. Pass the ball, then run towards the center cone and then towards the adjacent cone (not the one you passed the ball to)

5. Pass the ball, then run to your left without going to the center cone

6. Pass the ball, then run to your right without going to the center cone
