I don’t agree with US Youth Soccer’s approach to youth development. They have a different method than US Soccer. There are some political struggles between the two organizations, even though US Soccer is the parent organization. US Youth Soccer believes in playing games and allowing the games to teach the player with “guided discovery questions” thrown in. Although I do like the theory, a lot of the games they play are a bit hokey to me. It is important, however, to mix in a bit of fun occasionally in your sessions. Here are the Nat’s doing it.
